To be honest, C-FAM and the Friday Fax can really use your help as 2009 comes to an end.

This has been a tough year for fund raising and as I look at our year-end books, I realize the economy hurt us more than I thought it had.

It turns out that we took a much bigger financial hit from the lackluster economy than I'd previously thought. We were down significantly in the fourth quarter of 2009 and our recent fund raising appeals for the Friday Fax have been good but not great. We could use your help now more than ever.

One reason I'm asking you to do this is because 2010 promises to be a great year for our pro-life movement and for our mission of protecting our innocent unborn brothers and sisters, and fighting for the sovereign rights of the nation, the Church and the family from the aggressive actions of UN radicals.

This new decade that will be born in just a few hours promises to be full of terrible challenges and also of great opportunities.

I am in touch with thousands of people from all over the United States, Canada, Europe; indeed all over the world. And what I hear from folks far and wide is that they are fed up with the extremist anti-life policies coming out of the new Obama administration and out of the United Nations.

C-FAM and the Friday Fax are poised to fight back harder than ever in this new year and this new decade. We have been at this fight for 12 years and we have had many victories. With our allies in government and with our allies friends in the pro-life movement, we have been able to stop abortion from becoming an international human right. Imagine that. The radicals failed because a small band of pro-life resisters stopped them.

Our work is far from over and we expect our opponents will double, triple and quadruple their efforts in the next year. And we will be there to stop them.

But I remain optimistic because Friday Fax reporters and C-FAM lobbyists will be AT EVERY SINGLE UN MEETING THAT TRIES TO ADVANCE A RIGHT TO ABORTION. C-FAM personnel are often the only pro-lifers in the room when anti-life policies are made at the UN and I hereby pledge that this will never change. We will always be there.

I am also optimistic because we have launched a new program called the Edmund Burke Fellowship which brings pro-life college and law students into the halls of the UN for actual negotiations. These young people are an inspiration to pro-life delegations. These young people have given UN delegates courage to stand up and do the right thing for the unborn child.

We will have many challenges this year but I am confident the C-FAM and Friday Fax team will meet each and every one of them.
